Kazakhstan announced the hospitalization of Nazarbayev, former director of state television channel Aksyutits
ASTANA, January 20 – RIA Novosti. Media manager Alexander Aksyutits, citing sources, said that the former President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev was hospitalized in one of the clinics in the capital of the country for cardiological examination, surgery is possible.
On a social network, “My sources said that Nursultan Nazarbayev was hospitalized in one of the hospitals in Astana. He is undergoing a comprehensive heart examination. Medical staff say there will be surgical intervention.”
No official statement has been made about the health status of Nazarbayev, who is now 82 years old. Press spokesperson Aydos Ukibay does not answer phones.
In the past, Aksyutits was head of state news channel Khabar 24, head of the press service of the ruling Nur Otan party, and was a member of the presidential pool.
