Ministry of Defense: Russian Armed Forces shot down Ukrainian Su-27s in the DPR and Mi-8s in the Zaporozhye region
MOSCOW, January 25 – RIA Novosti. Russian Defense Ministry said on Wednesday that warplanes of the Russian Aerospace Forces destroyed a Ukrainian Su-27 aircraft near Slavyansk in the DPR.
“Russian Air Force warplanes shot down a Ukrainian Air Force Su-27 near Slavyansk, Donetsk People’s Republic,” the Russian military department said in a statement. The Ministry of Defense also reported that a Ukrainian Mi-8 helicopter was shot down near the village of Novodarovka, Zaporozhye region.
In addition, the operational-tactical aviation, missile forces and artillery units (forces) of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation defeated 79 artillery units of the Ukrainian troops in firing positions, manpower and military equipment in 124 districts per day.
In total, since the beginning of the special military operation, Russian troops destroyed 377 aircraft, 204 helicopters, 2,948 unmanned aerial vehicles, 402 anti-aircraft missile systems, 7,627 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 988 multiple launch rocket system combat vehicles. 3,906 field artillery and mortar shells and 8,171 special military vehicles.
