Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs supports Belgrade in Kosovo, explaining that the sanctions against Russia are wrong
BELGRADE, January 26 – RIA Novosti. Serbian First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic said that it is wrong to impose sanctions on Russia, which supports Serbia in the Kosovo issue, even though Belgrade does not support the violation of Ukraine’s territorial integrity.
Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister is in Ankara on a working visit and met with his Turkish counterpart, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, on Thursday.
“As you know, we did not participate in the sanctions against the Russian Federation because of our national and state, economic interests and cooperation, and because of Serbia’s problem with regard to its territorial integrity and sovereignty over Kosovo. Russia supports Serbia in other forums. Serbia is now in Russia. or it would be wrong to impose sanctions,” he said.
Dacic stressed that this does not mean that “Belgrade will do everything to openly say that it does not support the violation of Ukraine’s territorial integrity and will help in any way it can.”
