Earlier, the Chairman of the Central Election Commission stated that the Baytak Green Party could only participate in the maslikhat parliamentary elections in three regions due to the lack of branches, while the Republican Party, which did not have structural divisions, could participate in the elections. regions, these elections are not allowed.

At a meeting on Friday, CEC members passed resolutions allowing these parties to nominate their candidates in most regions of Kazakhstan.

“Thus, the Baitak party is allowed to participate in the extraordinary elections of the maslikhats in the 15 districts of the republic … (second edition) The adopted resolution allows the Respublica party to participate in the elections for the 19 districts, summarizing the voting results of the CEC members,” said Abdirov.

He reminded that these parties have until the end of the nomination period – February 8 – to open new representations and branches and register.

The President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed a decree on the early termination of the powers of maslikhats at all levels. The Central Election Commission has set a date for early parliamentary general elections on 19 March.

In total, Kazakhstan has 17 regions, two cities of republican importance (Alma-Ata and Shymkent) and the capital.
