Likhachev: Under current circumstances, the international nuclear community does not break with Rosatom
MOSCOW, May 19 – RIA Novosti. Alexei Likhachev, director general of the state agency, said at a working meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday that the international nuclear community has not severed ties with Rosatom in the current circumstances.
“In recent years, we have reached the second place in uranium production in the world. We confidently maintain the first place in enrichment and conversion, and we are constantly among the top three in fuel production. There are infrastructure works in every field for further development.” said Likhachev.
According to him, Rosatom continues to cooperate with the IAEA, participates in the international project of the ITER thermonuclear reactor, built in France.
“And I want to say once again that in this sense, the international nuclear community has not yet broken ties as long as this cooperation develops,” said Likhachev.
