North Korea’s Foreign Ministry: Pyongyang will respond harshest to any US military action
MOSCOW, February 2 – RIA Novosti. A spokesperson for the North Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement released by the North Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) that Pyongyang would give the “strongest response” to any US military action.
Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin on Tuesday said the United States is committed to deterring North Korea, including using “nuclear capabilities.” He added that in 2022, North Korea carried out an “unprecedented number” of provocative actions. On Wednesday, the Yonhap news agency reported that South Korea and the United States held a joint air exercise involving US Air Force warplanes.
In a statement to KCNA, the representative of the DPRK Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that the military-political situation in the Korean Peninsula and the region has reached the “red line” due to the hostile actions of the USA.
As noted, North Korea has a clear strategy against the United States and its allies. A spokesman for the North Korean Foreign Ministry added that North Korea is not interested in dialogue with the United States as long as Washington follows a “hostile policy”.
