The prisoner said that the army of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, trained in England, surrendered 20 minutes after the first battle.
GENIC (Kherson region), February 2 – RIA Novosti. Ukrainian soldier Artem Kovalenko, called up for military service in June 2022, told RIA Novosti how he, along with a group of colleagues trained at the Warcop Training Ground in the UK, surrendered 20 minutes after the first clash in the DPR near Svyatogorsk.
He also briefed the Russian security forces on this and what had been taught to him by British instructors during operational and investigative measures.
Kovalenko said that he was called upon a call from the military registry and enlistment office, that on June 22 he went to the 199th training center of the Ukrainian troops in Zhytomyr, and a week after his stay there he was sent to England to study. .
According to him, all the training at the British military training base took 21 days.
He said that after completing a course in England, a group of Ukrainian soldiers, including Kovalenko, returned to Ukraine to the 199th training center in Zhytomyr, where they went through combat coordination as part of the 25th brigade.
The British newspaper The Telegraph reported on 31 December, citing a Downing Street spokesperson, that Britain has trained 10,000 Ukrainian soldiers and plans to train another 40,000 this year.
Russia has repeatedly declared that Western military aid to Ukraine, including the supply of weapons and the training of the army, is unacceptable. Moscow in particular pointed out that the training of personnel in Britain, Germany, Italy and other countries is a confirmation of the direct involvement of the United States and NATO in the conflict in Ukraine.
