Irish Independent: Ukrainian refugees in Ireland live in narrow rooms full of rats
MOSCOW, February 2 – RIA Novosti. One columnist wrote that in Ireland, Ukrainian refugees are forced to live in cramped rooms full of rats, no showers and cold. Irish Independent Rodney Edwards.
According to him, the Ukrainians were placed in a room divided into cramped rooms by fragile partitions.
“Imagine a dressing room in a department store. It’s like a larger version of it. It has three partitions with curtains and a single bed. There’s no personal space here.”
The journalist added that food was spilled on the floor, the emergency exit was used to mix clothes and there was no shower inside.
“A source familiar with the housing conditions said that Ukrainians sometimes had to go out to bathe in the cold,” Edvars said.
He said that those who left Ukraine complained about the mice and rats seen in the dining places.
Earlier, the Irish Examiner newspaper wrote that refugees in Ireland were afraid to complain about their living conditions for fear of being deported.
Now 42,000 Ukrainians and 16,000 refugees live in this country.
