Israel hits Hamas facility in connection with weapons production

MOSCOW, February 2 – RIA Novosti. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that it had hit a facility belonging to the Palestinian movement Hamas and linked to the production of weapons.

Earlier, the Israeli army confirmed that it attacked the Gaza Strip on Thursday night.

“In response to rockets fired at Israel from the Gaza Strip, today IDF warplanes attacked a chemical production facility and a weapons production facility owned by the terrorist organization Hamas,” the army said on Twitter.

In addition, the Israel Defense Forces said that Hamas is responsible for “all terrorist activities originating in the Gaza Strip” and that Israel will be held accountable for the consequences of its security breach.

A rocket from the Gaza Strip on Wednesday was intercepted by the Israeli air defense system, according to the Israeli military.

On Friday night last week, Israel and the Gaza Strip carried out mutual rocket attacks. This was due to clashes between Palestinians and Israeli soldiers in the West Bank city of Jenin, which resulted in the deaths of at least 10 Palestinians. In response to the Israeli raid on Jenin, the Palestinians carried out two terrorist attacks in Jerusalem.
