Acting head of the Kherson region Denge: Ukrainian armed forces suffer casualties as they try to force the Dnieper
SIMFEROPOL, February 2 – RIA Novosti. Acting Governor of the region Volodymyr Saldo said that all attempts of the Ukrainian army to force the Dnieper were repelled with heavy losses for the enemy, the Russian army completely controlled the water area of the river and the mouth of the Dnieper-Bug.
Earlier it was reported that the Ukrainian army made constant attempts to force the Dnieper in order to gain a foothold on the left bank and create a foothold for the offensive. The last unsuccessful attempts were made in the New Kakhovka and Kherson region.
“Our army completely controls the water area of the river, including its delta cut by canals and the Dnieper-Insect estuary. We inflict heavy losses on the enemy, and more often completely destroy both militants and their equipment, Saldo told RIA Novosti.
According to him, there is no point in talking about the reality of the military plans of the “Kyiv regime” to force the Dnieper.
“Their leaders, pushed by the Americans and the British, are throwing more and more troops to be slaughtered in different sectors of the front, regardless of human casualties,” Saldo said.
Kherson region became subject to the Russian Federation with the referendum held here. At the same time, the Ukrainian side does not recognize its legitimacy and continues to bombard the territory of the region. Today, 75% of the territory of the Kherson region is under Russian control, while the right bank, including the city of Kherson, the regional center of the region, remains under the control of Ukrainian troops.
