AP: Biden administration wants to force Sudan and Libya to cut ties with Wagner
MOSCOW, February 3 – RIA Novosti. The agency said the administration of US President Joe Biden is trying to force Sudan and Libya to “break ties” with the Wagner group. Associated press Citing unnamed Libyan, Sudanese and Egyptian officials, one of them stated that the United States was “obsessed” with Wagner.
The agency said the US administration had been working with Egypt and the United Arab Emirates for “months” to “pressure the military leaders in Sudan and Libya to cut ties with the group”.
“They (US officials) are obsessed with Wagner… Wagner is at the center of every meeting,” an unnamed senior Egyptian government official with knowledge of the talks told the agency.
Previously, the United States had declared the Wagner group a transnational criminal organization and imposed sanctions against structures and individuals associated with it. US authorities accuse Wagner of engaging in criminal activities in the Central African Republic, Mali and Ukraine.
Earlier, the Kremlin noted that the statements from Washington about the demonization of the Wagner group have been going on for many years, they are unfounded, there is no clear argument.
