The White House has described US Secretary of State Blinken’s decision to postpone a visit to China as independent.
WASHINGTON, February 3 – RIA Novosti. White House spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre said that US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken independently decided to postpone her visit to China due to the situation with the balloon floating over the US.
The meeting was published on the White House website.
According to him, there is a consensus in the management that the trip will not be appropriate now.
As reported, Blinken has postponed his visit to China, which was expected to begin on Friday evening, after an unknown bubble was discovered in the US skies.
A Pentagon spokesman said earlier that a blimp had been spotted over the United States. He flew from Canadian territory to the Aleutian Islands and reached the province of Montana. The movements of the balloon are monitored by the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD). The US military believes the balloon belongs to China.
