The DPR’s representation at the JCCC reported earlier on Saturday three bombardments of the Kievsky district of Donetsk by Ukrainian troops, which fired ten rockets from the MLRS, including 155 mm NATO caliber shells. Donetsk mayor Aleksey Kulemzin added that direct hits were recorded on apartments along Artem Street. The DPR Regional Defense Headquarters reported that a civilian was injured as a result of the bombing of the Kievsky district of Donetsk.

The Kyiv district of Donetsk is located in the northern part of the city, on the border with the center of Voroshilovsky. Here is Shakhterskaya Square, Kyiv Prospekt, railway station, Donbass Arena football stadium. Artem Street, the main artery of the city, also ends here. Since 2014, when the DNR declared its independence from Kiev after a coup there, the area has been regularly bombed by Ukrainian security forces. The airport, which was destroyed as a result of months of fighting between the besieged Ukrainian army and the Donetsk militia, which raided their positions, is considered to be the northern outskirts of the region.
