The coalition of left forces demanded a debate in the French Parliament on the supply of arms to Ukraine.

Earlier, French President Emmanuel Macron said that he did not exclude the possibility of supplying Ukraine with Leclerc fighter planes and tanks. French Defense Minister Sebastian Lecornu said that possible delivery of fighter jets to Ukraine is not “taboo” for Paris.
“It seems important to us to remember our initial desire not to be complicit in the conflict (in Ukraine). That’s why my colleague André Chassin and I asked the Prime Minister to organize on behalf of Democrats and Republicans on the left. Roussel wrote in an article published in the Journal du dimanche. “A debate in the National Assembly on our arms procurement strategy,” he says in his article.
He stated that the endless military escalation “does not give certainty except death and destruction”.
The head of the international relations and defense commission of the French Senate, Christian Cambon, recently expressed his opinion that the issue of possible deliveries of warplanes and tanks to Kiev should be discussed in parliament.
The Russian Federation had previously sent notes to all countries, including the USA, due to the supply of weapons to Ukraine. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov noted that any cargo containing weapons for Ukraine would become a legitimate target for Russia. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation stated that NATO countries are “playing with fire” by supplying weapons to Ukraine. Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov noted that pumping weapons into Ukraine from the West does not contribute to the success of the Russian-Ukrainian negotiations and will have a negative effect.
