The SBU accused Medvedchuk’s wife, Oksana Marchenko, of financing the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs and the National Guard

MOSCOW, February 7 – RIA Novosti. Ukraine Security Service accused Oksana Marchenko, the wife of the Ukrainian politician Viktor Medvedchuk, is in the “funding” of the National Guard and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

“The security service eliminated a large-scale covert financing scheme by Ukrainian citizens for Russian occupation troops. In particular, Oksana Marchenko, the wife of Viktor Medvedchuk, suspected of treason, is involved in the organization. The agency said on a Telegram channel that the network of Kyiv companies and Yalta “He is the ultimate beneficiary of an initiative in Russia that has transferred millions of dollars to the accounts of the National Guard in Crimea and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.”

The SBU claims that Marchenko registered a company in Yalta with a registered capital of more than one billion rubles and used the assets of three controlled investment companies located in Kiev to create it. According to the department, the Crimean company allegedly signed agreements with the structures of the National Guard and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia on the protection of objects belonging to Medvedchuk in Crimea.

According to the SBU, Marchenko’s business structure regularly paid taxes and duties to the Russian budget, and the total amount of payments exceeded 50 million hryvnia (about $ 1.3 million). The department conducted 11 searches of Marchenko’s real estate, the offices of his companies in Kiev, and the addresses of his top executives.

“The Security Service of Ukraine, to Oksana Marchenko and the head of a company connected with her in the Crimea, 110-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Ministry to change or overthrow the constitutional order or seize state power, change the territory of Ukraine or state borders),” said.

Previously, by decree of Volodymyr Zelensky, Medvedchuk was deprived of Ukrainian citizenship, and in January the Verkhovna Rada deprived him of the post of deputy. As the head of the DPR Denis Pushilin reported, Medvedchuk himself was handed over to the Russian side as a result of the prisoner exchange with Ukraine. The SBU suspects Medvedchuk of aiding treason and terrorism. At the same time, the politician stated that he sees the criminal cases brought against him as political persecution.

In October 2022, the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine approved the sanctions list, which also included Medvedchuk and his wife.

At the end of November, the RBC-Ukraine agency reported that Marchenko was in Russia and was allegedly seen with her husband in Yalta.
