Ukrenergo will measure the actual electricity consumption in each region

MOSCOW, February 7 – RIA Novosti. Ukrainian company “Ukrenergo” will measure real consumption electricity in the regions of Ukraine, where each region in turn for one day will receive unlimited access to electricity.

“From February 8, consumption limits will be changed across Ukraine. One day for two weeks there will be no restrictions for each region, other days there may be a change in the usual shutdown schedules. The company’s Telegram channel measures the actual consumption in each area,” he says.

The company announced that one or more regions will receive unlimited power supplies for that day, allowing the actual electricity needs of the region to be measured, while the remaining regions will continue with stricter consumption limits on the day of measurement.

According to the temporary measurement program published by the company, the first places to be checked will be the Mykolaiv region and the Zaporozhye region, as well as the DPR controlled by Kyiv: the measurements will be made here on February 8. On February 10, checks will be held in the Kyiv and Volyn regions, on February 17 in Kiev itself and in the Chernovtsy region.

Previously, the Ukrainian energy holding DTEK warned of possible accidents in the country’s electricity grids due to the approaching cold wave and the consequent increase in electricity consumption.

The attacks on the Ukrainian infrastructure of the Russian Armed Forces began on October 10, two days after the terrorist attack on the Crimean bridge, behind which, according to the Russian authorities, the Ukrainian special services stood. Attacks are being carried out against energy, defense industry, military command and communication facilities throughout the country. Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said that more than half of the country’s power plants were damaged. In December 2022, Volodymyr Zelensky said that it is now impossible to completely restore Ukraine’s energy system.
