Turkish Ministry of Justice: Those responsible for the buildings destroyed in the earthquake will be punished for negligence
ANKARA, 8 February – RIA Novosti. Minister of Justice Bekir Bozdag declarationHe promised that no one would escape punishment for negligence that led to the collapse of buildings as a result of the devastating earthquake in the southeast of the country.
A 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck southeastern Turkey on Monday morning. According to President Tayyip Erdogan, he was the strongest since 1939. In the afternoon of the same day, another 7.6 earthquake occurred. According to the latest data, 7,108 people were killed and 40,910 injured. Erdogan declared seven days of national mourning and a three-month state of emergency was declared in 10 provinces affected by the disaster.
Bozdag, as quoted by TRT Haber, said, “Those who are negligent in the destroyed buildings will be held accountable. No one will be able to escape punishment for their crimes.”
