ULAN Bator, February 8 – RIA Novosti. The Government of Mongolia, with the initiative of Prime Minister Luvsannamsrein Oyuun-Erdene, declared 2023 the year of the fight against corruption, informs Mongolian public radio and television.

The government, ministries, ministries, regional governors and cities set a target to implement five specific measures. Therefore, Operation Whistle includes measures to protect those who report corruption and abuse, to organize a movement to support disclosures in any way possible, and to create an intolerant and uncompromising attitude towards corruption in society.

Operation “Broom” is designed to combat the situation where the consumption level of politicians is higher than their legal income, to stop appointments to high positions through acquaintances, the inevitability of punishment for corruption and to clean state bodies from “parasites”. “.

Operation “Bird” involves the extradition of corrupt officials who fled abroad, cooperation with law enforcement agencies of foreign countries, protection of foreign investors.

Operation “Return” – the detection and return of stolen funds hidden in the offshore zones and in foreign countries, the creation of a fund of returned funds, whose activities must be transparent to the public.

Operation “Glass” – ensuring the transparency of the activities of state organizations, the elimination of bureaucracy, the openness of all kinds of choices; public auditing on state-owned companies, the creation of qualified management teams, and the establishment of an ethical and fair competition environment.

The Mongolian Anti-Corruption Agency released a list of people involved in the large-scale theft of coal exported to China on 13 December. The deputy head of the investigation department of the Mongolian Anti-Corruption Department, former president Khaltmaagiin Battulga, said seven lawmakers and the governor were linked to the coal theft case. According to media reports, the amount of damage caused by corruption in coal exports ranges from 1.8 to 13 billion dollars. The information sparked massive protests in Ulan Bator after authorities promised a thorough investigation.
