BrahMos director Atul Dinkar Rane talked about the advantages of this rocket over others.
NEW DELHI, 13 FEBRUARY – RIA Novosti. The company’s managing director and CEO, Atul Dinkar Rane, told RIA Novosti that Brahmos missiles are faster, more accurate and versatile than many other missiles in the world.
“We always say that Brahmos is supersonic. In fact, I’d say it’s the only supersonic cruise missile outside of Russia, because Russia also has it. So supersonic speed is its biggest advantage,” he said.
According to him, the speed of the rocket is three times higher than the others, and the energy it gives is nine times higher than other rockets.
Another advantage of this missile is its versatility for the three branches of the army – the army, navy and aviation.
BrahMos Aerospace, an Indo-Russian joint venture, produces supersonic cruise missiles that can be launched from submarines, ships, aircraft or land platforms. The company was founded in 1998 and takes its name from the Brahmaputra and Moscow rivers. The Russian side in the joint venture is represented by NPO Mashinostroeniya.
