He described higher taxes, which would deprive Russia of unexpected profits from energy exports, as an acceptable option for the period of the West’s preparations to reject such purchases altogether.

“We appreciate the initiative of the American administration and the European Union to impose a tax on Russian oil. I think some of these funds could go to the fund for the reconstruction of Ukraine,” said Yermak. Washington specialist centers.

On Thursday, the media reported on the G7’s plans to form a cartel, whose goal is to set a price threshold for purchasing Russian oil, citing US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen.

Some Western countries have introduced various packages of sanctions against the Russian Federation due to the situation in Ukraine. Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the policy of containing and weakening Russia is a long-term strategy of the West and that the sanctions have dealt a serious blow to the entire world economy. Russia launched a military operation against Ukraine on February 24.
