MOSCOW, February 21 – RIA Novosti. US National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan declarationThat the Russian Federation has limited itself to confirming that it has received a notification of Joe Biden’s visit to Ukraine, that Washington has not received guarantees from Moscow.
Prior to Biden’s speech in Poland, the Financial Times quoted Sullivan, “They just confirmed receipt of the notification. There was no exchange (messages – ed.). It was just a notification and acknowledgment of receipt, no guarantees.”
According to him, the United States warned the Russian Federation, giving details about Biden’s program and course of action, so that Moscow would not be surprised by the increased security measures.

Citing the White House, the Associated Press reported that the United States contacted Russia shortly before Biden’s visit to Ukraine to clear up any miscalculations that could lead to a direct conflict between the two nuclear powers. The source told RIA Novosti that the US embassy notified the Russian side of Biden’s visit to Kiev, primarily for security purposes.
Russian Presidential Spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said on Tuesday that Russia is monitoring Biden’s visit to Ukraine very closely and will follow developments in Poland, where the White House chief travels from Kiev.
