State Duma Speaker Volodin described the suspension of START as the result of US foreign policy
MOSCOW, February 22 – RIA Novosti. The situation in which the Duma will consider the suspension of START is the result of US foreign policy, declaration State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin.
“Today, the State Duma will consider Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin’s initiative “On the Suspension of the Agreement by the Russian Federation on Measures to Further Reduction and Limitation of Strategic Offensive Weapons” by Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin… The current situation, Washington’s foreign policy,” he said. Wrote Volodin on his Telegram channel.
In his view, the United States “destroyed the architecture of international stability” by abandoning its obligations and rejecting Russia’s proposals on global security issues, while at the same time pushing the world into a “state of conflict and challenge”.
The deputy said that it is unacceptable to talk in the language of an ultimatum with Russia on issues of security of the country and its citizens.
Volodin also noted that the members of the US Congress should be aware of the situation “caused by the mistake” of US President Joe Biden and its possible consequences.
