Los Angeles-class US nuclear submarine arrives in Busan, South Korea
Seoul, February 25 – RIA Novosti. The US Pacific Fleet announced on social media on Saturday that a US Los Angeles-class nuclear submarine has arrived in South Korea for a visit.
The submarine reportedly arrived at the port of Busan for a “planned visit”. The exact dates of arrival and the estimated date of the visit were not disclosed. The U.S. Pacific Fleet has released photos of the submarine waving the national flags of the United States and South Korea, as well as South Korean Navy crews welcoming the submarine’s arrival.

Last November, South Korea and the United States also agreed to increase the frequency and intensity of deploying US strategic forces to the peninsula.
It was previously reported that the US nuclear aircraft carrier could participate in the South Korean and US Freedom Shield exercises in March. The deployment of an American nuclear aircraft carrier in the alliance’s joint exercises in March, the Yonhap news agency reported, citing sources. Also in February, US strategic bombers participated in a series of Air Force exercises with South Korea. Last year, the US sent the aircraft carrier Ronald Reagan to conduct exercises with South Korea and Japan.
North Korea’s Foreign Ministry previously said that the deployment of US strategic weapons on the Korean Peninsula and the continuation of hostile actions against North Korea, including military exercises, could be perceived by Pyongyang as a declaration of war.
