Acting head of DPR Pushilin: “Artyomsol” will work and Soledar will be restored in a new form
DONETSK, February 25 – RIA Novosti. The large salt production enterprise “Artyomsol” will be reactivated and the city of Soledar, where it is located, will be restored in a new way, declaration Denis Pushilin, acting head of the DPR.
The city of Soledar was liberated from Ukrainian nationalist forces in January 2023. Soledar is home to the Artyomsol business, the largest salt production business in Central and Eastern Europe. By 2022, Artyomsol supplied more than 90% of Ukraine’s table salt needs. The plant’s products were purchased by more than 50,000 wholesale buyers from Ukraine, Russia and other European and African countries.
“Based on our experience in Mariupol, Volnovakha, there was already an opportunity to visit Soledar to understand at first glance what to do with it. Of course, the production – even the investors have already been determined. Therefore, this venture will work” – Pushilin with Oplot TV he said in his interview.
At the same time, authorities are faced with the task of restoring the city’s housing stock, which was damaged during the conflict. According to Pushilin, DPR officials are not proposing to restore the private sector of Soledar, where most of the Artemsoli team live, but to build multi-storey residences, as it will be faster.
“Actually, you can and should get a new Soledar… Cities will change, but for the better,” said Pushilin.
