Around 200 Redan supporters were detained while attempting to organize an illegal rally in Gomel
MINSK, March 1 – RIA Novosti. The Belarusian Ministry of Internal Affairs said that about 200 supporters of the Ryodan movement, most of them underage, were detained while trying to organize an illegal rally in Gomel.
In Gomel on Tuesday, it was announced that supporters of the Redan movement had gathered near the Secret shopping and entertainment center after calls broadcast on social networks and instant messaging programs.
“The Redan PMC subculture appeared as an imitation of the Japanese cartoon Hunter x Hunter about the crime group Geneya Redan, and is notable for the possible participation of its supporters in mass fights in shopping centers,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs said.
According to the report, police officers immediately responded to an attempt to organize an illegal mass event.
In the report, “200 people, 183 of whom were underage, were brought to the internal affairs organs without the use of physical force. Currently, those brought are controlled, their actions are evaluated as legal.”
He adds that young people under the age of 16 will receive a warning by “registering” with the children’s inspectorate. Those over the age of 16 face additional administrative responsibility.
“Persons involved in organizing an illegal collective action are identified. The issue of filing a criminal case is being considered,” the report said.
AP urged Redan participants to direct their energies in a peaceful direction
