Finnish Parliament Speaker Vanhanen said the country would “definitely” join NATO.

MOSCOW, May 21 – RIA Novosti. Finland will “absolutely” join NATO, the head of the Finnish parliament, Matti Vanhanen, said.

Finland and Sweden on Wednesday handed in applications from NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg to join the alliance.

In an interview with public broadcaster YLE, Vanhanen said: “Yes, absolutely. Previous NATO membership processes took at least four months, some more than a year. Time will tell.” said.
