RVIO: Churchill’s Fulton speech should be considered in the context of the Anglo-Saxon struggle against Russia

It is important to consider Winston Churchill’s Fulton speech 77 years ago, even today, because it has become a manifesto of the Anglo-Saxon world’s struggle against the Soviet Union. Mikhail Myagkov, scientific director of the Russian Military Historical Society (RVIO), told RIA Novosti that he was fighting against Russia in hopes of dividing Russia.

On March 5, 1946, British politician, former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill declared in Fulton, America, the special responsibility of Great Britain and the United States in controlling the USSR and communism. Churchill’s Fulton speech is considered one of the most important moments in the beginning of the Cold War.

“Churchill’s speech was essentially a manifesto of the hegemony of the Anglo-Saxon world. Continental Europe, which was nearly destroyed after the Second World War, worried Truman and Churchill not only as an obstacle to the Soviet Union, but also of the economic hegemony of the Anglo-Saxons. ,” said Myagkov.

According to Myagkov, at that time it became clear to the leadership of the USSR that there would be no help from the West, even situational, as during the Great Patriotic War – on the contrary, a new conflict was beginning.

The RVIO’s scientific director noted that the “Iron Curtain” has not only disappeared from nowhere since Fulton’s speech, but has also moved further east to the borders of Russia.

According to him, after Fulton, the main conditions for ensuring the security of the Soviet Union were the elimination of the US monopoly on the possession of nuclear weapons and the creation of the USSR’s own atomic bomb.

“We are now forced to create new types of weapons in response to threats from the West,” added RVIO’s scientific director.
