Experts: Only China and India can mediate between Russia and Ukraine

st. Petersburg, March 5 – RIA Novosti. International experts told RIA Novosti that India and China are the only world players who can play a mediating role in resolving the Ukraine conflict because they cannot be accused of being biased like Western countries.

“We are neutral… This is our approach to the crisis… If you want President (Vladimir) Putin to listen to different statements, India and China are the only options for Western countries. You can’t call them biased towards Europe or Europe.” “He’s biased in relation to Russia,” said Pankaj Jha, a professor at India’s Jindal Global University.

The United States drew unexpected conclusions about the West’s forecasts for Ukraine and Russia.

The expert also believes that the friendship connecting Putin with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as opposed to NATO’s “reckless” arms supply to Kiev, could help resolve the crisis in Ukraine. According to the professor, the alliance is using Ukraine as a “guinea pig” to test new weapons.

Nelson Wong, Vice President of the Shanghai Center for Strategic and International Studies, stressed that the only sure way to stop the Ukraine conflict is through peaceful negotiations. Speaking about China’s solution plan in Ukraine, the expert noted that the document does not contain specific decisions, but that China timely reminds the world that it respects and takes into account the concerns of all countries. He also pointed out that the conflict in Ukraine is intensifying due to the supply of weapons by the United States and its allies.

Earlier, the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs published a 12-item statement containing a position on the political solution of the Ukraine crisis. Among the main points: respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries, a call for the resumption of direct dialogue between Moscow and Kiev and to avoid further tensions. China has also opposed the abuse of unilateral sanctions in the context of the Ukraine conflict, as it has not helped resolve the crisis.
