State Department spokesperson Price: US believes Iranian Navy has no place in Western Hemisphere
WASHINGTON, March 8 – RIA Novosti. State Department spokesman Ned Price said about reports that Iranian warships had entered the Brazilian port of Rio de Janeiro, saying that the United States believes the Iranian Navy has no place in the Western Hemisphere.
He made reservations that the United States recognizes the right of foreign countries to make their own decisions, appreciates Brazil as a “close partner” and intends to continue working with Iran to send the “right signal” to Iran.
Iranian media previously reported that the Makran helicopter carrier and the Dana destroyer from the 86th fleet, which made the first world tour in the history of the Iranian Navy, entered the port of Rio de Janeiro.
