Advisor to Rosenergoatom Karchaa chairman described the situation as tense with ZNPP
MELITOPOL, March 10 – RIA Novosti. Renat Karchaa, adviser to the general director of the Rosenergoatom concern, described the situation with the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant as tense.
“The situation is tense, in many respects it is connected with the removal of the power lines of the station and the generated energy. Therefore, we, as the Russian Federation, do not want to take risks, we do not want to take risks (Ukrainian side – ed.) the opportunity to organize an event that can have consequences later, the situation “in standby mode “We support it,” he told RIA Novosti.

Rosenergoatom called the idea of Kiev’s forcible seizure of the Zaporizhzhya NPP insane
Karchaa explained that two of the station’s first and third reactors are under repair, while the second and fourth reactors are in cold shutdown mode. “And we started the fifth or sixth in hot shutdown mode, which leads to heat generation, which is very important for the station, because the station relies heavily on steam – these are both steam generators and turbines; steam-washed,” the source said.
“Well, on the plus side, this mode of hot shutdown played a role in the heating of the city, because it was urgently necessary to save the situation of installing modular block boiler rooms. But the operation of the two reactors in hot shutdown mode and sending heat to the heat supply system made the job easier,” he said.
“The situation is tense, of course that doesn’t add to the mood, but by the way, that’s their aim, to undermine the moral and psychological situation within the team.”
Zaporozhye NPP is located on the left bank of the Dnieper, near the town of Energodar. This is the largest nuclear power plant in Europe in terms of the number of units and installed capacity – the power plant has six power units with a capacity of 1 gigawatt each. It has been under the protection of the Russian army since March last year. The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that this step is justified in order to prevent the leakage of nuclear and radioactive materials.
The Ukrainian army continues to regularly bombard Enerhodar and the territory of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant adjacent to the city. Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said the Kiev regime was trying to create the appearance of a nuclear catastrophe threat by continuing to deliberately bomb the ZNPP. The International Atomic Energy Agency has repeatedly expressed the need to create a security zone around the ZNPP.
