Supporters of Shor party join anti-government demonstration in Chisinau

KISINEV, 16 March – RIA Novosti. Supporters and representatives of the Shor party, an opposition party in Moldova, went to an anti-government demonstration Thursday against tariff hikes and price hikes in the republic, an RIA Novosti correspondent reported.

Last Sunday, protesters presented an ultimatum to the Moldovan government to resolve the problem of paying the public’s gas, electricity and heating bills within 24 hours, but the authorities ignored their demands. Marina Tauber, Deputy Chairman of the “Shor” party, urged the inhabitants of the republic to continue acts of disobedience.

A group of demonstrators, carrying banners “Pay our bills”, “Resign”, “Down with President Maia Sandu”, “We want a humane life”, “For early elections”, are marching along Great Stephen Avenue towards the parliament building.
