The Czech president was fined $2.7k for lack of data on his election campaign.
PRAGUE, 17 March – RIA Novosti. Petr Pavel, the new president of the Czech Republic, will have to pay a fine of 60,000 crowns (approximately $2,700) for lack of data on sponsors in the last presidential election campaign.
According to Outly, data on some sponsors of Pavel’s campaign fund were missing information, such as their place of residence and date of birth, which is the most common omission in these documents.
“If you have 6,000 sponsors and they all need to provide information like address, date of birth, but one doesn’t give it to you, then there’s no way we can get that from those people.” From a good Pavel in a conversation with the journalists who accompanied him on his trip to Poland.
“I think all this is understandable, I have no problem with that, because sometimes such problems happen,” added the Czech president, who had already paid the fine on March 13.
According to Outla, it was the first time his department had fined an individual such a significant amount, usually only legal entities were fined in such sums.
