Politician Filippo: Macron has no will to mediate conflict in Ukraine
PARIS, March 17 – RIA Novosti, Anastasia Ivanova. Florian Filippo, leader of France’s right-wing Patriots party, said in an interview with RIA Novosti that French President Emmanuel Macron has no real will to play the role of intermediary between Russia and Ukraine.
Since the start of the special military operation in Ukraine, Macron and Russian President Vladimir Putin have met six times, in one of which German Chancellor Olaf Scholz also participated in the dialogue. The last such meeting took place on September 11.
Before the outbreak of the conflict in Ukraine, Putin and Macron regularly spoke by phone. But later, the French media published a full transcript of their negotiations, which took place on February 20, 2022. The Russian leader condemned the publication of the content of the meeting as a “loss of confidence” and called it “inappropriate” to decide such a broadcast unilaterally.
