NHK: Rocket fired by North Korea fell outside Japan’s economic zone
TOKYO, March 19 – RIA Novosti. A ballistic missile allegedly fired by North Korea crashed outside of Japan’s exclusive economic zone, TV channel reported. NHK citing sources in government circles.
Earlier, the Yonhap agency reported that North Korea launched a ballistic missile into the Sea of Japan, citing the South Korean military.

The missile’s range, altitude and speed were not reported.
Japan’s maritime security service reported that a possible North Korean missile was hit. In case of object detection, ships are requested not to approach and to report to the responsible departments. In connection with the alleged missile test by North Korea, the headquarters for collecting and analyzing information was established in the crisis center in the office of the Prime Minister of Japan.
Earlier, the DPRK confirmed that an intercontinental ballistic missile “Hwaseong-17” was launched from Sunan International Airport in Pyongyang on March 16.
