Biden offers to help Netanyahu resolve internal political contradictions
WASHINGTON, March 20 – RIA Novosti. In a phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, US President Joe Biden welcomed the Israeli-Palestinian agreements to reduce tensions in the West Bank and offered assistance in resolving internal political conflicts in the Jewish state, the White House said in a statement.
Thousands of Israelis have been protesting for nearly three months against legal reform backed by Netanyahu’s right-wing religious coalition.

Palestine, Israel agree to establish mechanism against violence
“Israel welcomed the meeting of the representatives of the Palestinian (National) Administration, Egypt, Jordan and the military-political leadership of the United States on March 19 in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, to de-escalate tensions. He stressed the need to take urgent collective measures to condemn terrorist acts and to maintain the viability of the two-state solution.”
In particular, the Israelis and Palestinians agreed to suspend all unilateral measures for up to six months, including the discussion of new settlement construction and the legalization of settlement outposts. The parties also agreed to establish a “necessary action mechanism” to improve the economic conditions of the Palestinian people and provide financial support to the PNA.
“The President offered support to efforts to reach consensus on proposed legislative reforms,” the White House said. Biden stressed that the system of checks and balances only strengthens democratic societies and called for the broadest possible public support for “fundamental change”.
