Biden offers to help Netanyahu resolve internal political contradictions

Thousands of Israelis have been protesting for nearly three months against legal reform backed by Netanyahu’s right-wing religious coalition.

“Israel welcomed the meeting of the representatives of the Palestinian (National) Administration, Egypt, Jordan and the military-political leadership of the United States on March 19 in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, to de-escalate tensions. In particular, the Israelis and Palestinians agreed to suspend all unilateral measures for up to six months, including the discussion of new settlement construction and the legalization of settlement outposts. The parties also agreed to establish a “necessary action mechanism” to improve the economic conditions of the Palestinian people and provide financial support to the PNA.
