Japan’s Foreign Ministry confirmed that Prime Minister Kishida went to Ukraine to meet with Zelensky.
TOKYO, March 21 – RIA Novosti. Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan approved Prime Minister Fumio Kishida’s visit to Ukraine on Tuesday, March 21, where he will meet with Volodymyr Zelensky.
According to the Japanese Foreign Ministry’s statement, the meeting between Kishida and Zelensky will be held in Kiev. Kisida will have to go to Poland after her visit to Ukraine, where she is scheduled to meet with representatives of the Polish leadership on March 22.
In turn, at the meeting with the Polish leadership, the parties plan to confirm their cooperation in providing support to Ukraine.
Kishida was on an official visit from India, scheduled to return to Japan on Tuesday afternoon (JST). However, Kishida arrived in Poland on a private jet and boarded a train in Przemysl, Poland, at around 9:30am Japanese time (3:30am Moscow time), according to an NHK reporter.
Kisida is the only G7 head of state who has never met Zelensky in person.
