Ushakov: China’s Ukraine peace plan arouses respect in Moscow and anger in the West
MOSCOW, March 21 – RIA Novosti. While Moscow respects China’s peace plan to resolve the situation in Ukraine, the West is uncomfortable, Russian vice president Yury Ushakov told reporters.
Recalling that the Chinese initiative was discussed in the informal talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping the previous day, Ushakov said, “The West (Chinese peace plan for Ukraine – ed.) causes irritation and arouses respect in Moscow.” .
Ushakov also said that the informal talks between the provincial leaders on Monday were very extensive and lengthy: “The conversation was beneficial for both sides.”
The official visit of the Chinese leader, who came to Moscow on March 20 the previous day, will last until March 22. This is Xi Jinping’s first trip abroad since his third re-election as head of state.
