Welt: Unions in Germany to go on strike Monday with traffic closure

“There will be serious delays until the complete cessation of public transport across Germany,” the union said in a statement.

As reported below, the strike will begin on Monday night and end at midnight on Tuesday. With their actions, the unions are increasing the pressure ahead of the third round of negotiations with federal and local governments, which will begin Monday. Unions are demanding at least a 10.5% increase in the wages of public transport workers.
