Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine: Authorities will not confiscate weapons distributed to residents until the conflict ends

MOSCOW, March 23 – RIA Novosti. The head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Igor Klymenko, said that the Ukrainian authorities will not confiscate the uncontrolled distribution of small arms to citizens until the conflict ends, guaranteeing that all weapons are taken into account in a special database.

“All weapons legally issued to citizens, including police units, are currently included in the registry base and we do not see any problems in controlling their use, so these weapons will remain in the hands of our citizens in the war,” – said Klymenko on the air of the Ukrainian telethon.

At the same time, in early March, the head of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Kiev region, Andrey Nebitov, reported that the number of unregistered weapons in the region has increased sharply, and the authorities of the Dnipropetrovsk region must deliver the received weapons by March 27.

As Vadim Denisenko, adviser to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, previously noted, in Kiev alone, the Ukrainian authorities uncontrollably distributed more than 25,000 firearms and more than a million bullets to the public.
