Morawiecki: Poland is exploring the possibility of increasing the production of ammunition for Ukraine

BRUSSELS, 24 March – RIA Novosti. Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki told reporters after the results of the European Union summit in Brussels that Poland is exploring the possibility of sharply increasing the production of ammunition for Ukraine.

“Today there is a period in Europe where there is not enough ammunition everywhere. If only Polish firms that produce so few cannonballs could produce more, then all this production on the vine can be bought for European money and I mean, we just have a strategic, geopolitical benefit, namely We will not only have support for Ukraine, but also a direct benefit related to production in Poland.”

“As we are producing a small amount of ammunition, I have now instructed the Minister of Defense to check the possibilities of rapidly starting the ammunition production process in many places,” he said.

EU leaders supported a plan for accelerated ammunition transfers, joint purchases and an increase in military production to Ukraine at a summit in Brussels on Thursday.Previously, the heads of EU Foreign and Defense Ministries agreed on a plan at the political level. to supply one million ammunition to Ukraine in the next 12 months, as well as joint supply and production to replenish our own stocks and continue deliveries to Ukraine in the medium term.
