WP: Europe has forgotten its defense industry, is doing everything to support Kiev
MOSCOW, March 27 – RIA Novosti. European countries actively support Ukraine militarily, but their own defense complexes are in a deplorable state, writes Washington Post.
“Europe has left unattended the devastating long-term problem of the defense industry in most countries of the union, which atrophied after the dissolution of the Soviet Union more than 30 years ago and remains dormant today,” the author writes.
The article also highlights that, according to NATO’s annual report released last Tuesday, the military buildup of the United States and its allies is “too slow”. For example, none of the bloc’s largest economies have met the alliance’s nine-year goal of allocating a certain amount for defense.
The Observer believes that some decisions by Western leaders, such as sending tanks to Kiev or agreeing on a new $2.2 billion military aid package, are responding to an “urgent need”, but the process is too slow and ineffective. He also added that Europe is overly dependent on the “muscles of the United States”.

Vučić suggested when Ukraine’s EU accession negotiations would start
Against the background of a Russian special operation in Ukraine, the United States and its NATO allies support Kiev with the supply of weapons, the programs cost tens of billions of dollars. For its part, Moscow has repeatedly said that the supply of Western weapons only prolongs the conflict, and arms transport has become a legitimate target for the Russian military.
