On May 23, Biden announced at a joint press conference with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida that he was ready for the US military to join the defense of Taiwan “in the event of an invasion.” Later, as NBC reported, the White House declared that Biden, who spoke of his readiness for military involvement in Taiwan’s defense, had in mind the supply of weapons for the island’s self-defense.

“The US should be more careful in its statements, this applies not only to the Ukrainian military crisis, but also to the Taiwan issue. US President Joe Biden’s statement that the US military is ready to “defend Taiwan” can cause a lot of trouble for the Americans. “China will not forgive such outrage,” he said.

According to him, the harmful habit of the United States of “climbing into someone else’s monastery by its charter” and, at the same time, waving its guns, could harm Washington.

The parliamentarian noted that Beijing has already declared the inadmissibility of foreign interference in the internal affairs of the PRC. “This statement by the Chinese Foreign Ministry is another red line for Washington, the crossing of which is unacceptable to the United States,” Kovitidi said.
