Singapore PM: Asia with more than half the population should stay open
BEIJING, March 30 – RIA Novosti. Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong said on Thursday that Asia, home to more than half of the world’s population, must always remain an open region.
“Asia is a dynamic region with great promise. More than half the world’s population lives here, and Asians are becoming more and more educated, vibrant, full of ideas and dynamism… But the realization of this promise depends on the region remaining stable, inclusive and dynamic. “Because, like all other regions, Asia is affected by the turbulent global environment and strategic tensions,” said Li Hsien Loong, speaking at the Boao Asian Economic Forum (BAF) on the island of Hainan.
