Residents of Berlin were dissatisfied with the closure of roads near the market due to Charles III’s visit.

To ensure the safety of the royal personage, law enforcement closed the roads and erected fences around the market, the agency’s correspondent reported. People with rifles were placed on the surrounding hills and pedestals. A crowd quickly formed on the ceilings, with some Berliners beginning to express their dissatisfaction with what had happened.
“How am I going to get through all this? I didn’t invite him (Karl ll – ed.),” the cyclist said to the policeman who didn’t let him in.

Even when roads that did not lead directly to the market entrance were closed, they were supported by some pedestrians standing nearby who expressed their surprise at such safety measures.
Another man said that according to tradition he went to the market to buy bread, but now he could not go home. “The vendors there today are like extras fed by the royal air. I doubt they’ve managed to sell anything,” he added.
The woman standing nearby also wanted to go to the market and did not immediately understand why this was not allowed. When the reason for what was going on was explained to him, he said, “Nothing, the common people can wait now that the king has come.”
After about 45 minutes, III. Karl got into a Rolls-Royce car and accompanied a police escort to the Bundestag, where he gave a speech in German to groups.
