The Israeli army announced the resumption of air strikes in the Gaza Strip.

The announcement of the resumption of attacks in the Gaza Strip followed the army’s statement that the Israeli army was also carrying out attacks in southern Lebanon.

At the same time, earlier – on Friday night – the Israeli army had already attacked targets of the Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip – two tunnels and two weapons production facilities. The movement blamed Israel for the escalation and called on the Palestinian people to unite “in the fight against the invaders”. Earlier, the Palestinian leadership accused the Israeli authorities of creating an atmosphere of escalation and instability in Jerusalem amid ongoing clashes between Palestinians and Israeli police on the Temple Mount.

On Thursday, Israeli media reported that dozens of rockets were fired from Lebanese territory targeting border settlements and cities in northern Israel’s northern and western Galilee. At least three people were injured in the bomb attack. According to the press service of the Israeli army, 34 rockets were fired from the territory of Lebanon into the territory of Israel, 25 of which were blocked by the air defense system. The Israeli military said that the bombing of the country from Lebanese territory was carried out by groups from the Palestinian movement Hamas, which reigns in the Gaza Strip.

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant had previously instructed the country’s military leadership to prepare for any possible reaction. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Thursday evening that the enemies of the Jewish state will pay the price for any act of aggression against Israel, adding that internal debates and divisions will not prevent this.
