Lieutenant General Demin: air defense units and formations of the Russian Aerospace Forces created in new regions
MOSCOW, April 10 – RIA Novosti. In the new regions of the Russian Federation, air defense units and formations of the Russian Aerospace Forces were created, which, together with military air defense units, successfully solve the tasks of protecting important objects in the special operations zone, Lieutenant General Andrey Demin, Commander of the Air Defense Forces, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Aerospace Forces, told reporters in the statement.
“In the new regions of the Russian Federation, air defense units and formations of the Aerospace Forces were created, which, together with the formations and military units of the military air defense, successfully solve the tasks of protecting important facilities, large administrative and industrial facilities. Centers located in the NVO region,” he said.

After the results of the referendum held on September 30, the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions became part of Russia. Referendums were held on September 23-27, 2022 on joining the Russian Federation. 99.23% of those who voted to join Russia in the DPR, in the LPR – 98.42%, in the Kherson region – 87.05%, in the Zaporozhye region – 93.11%.
