Trump left the office of New York Attorney General Letitia James, where she testified for seven hours.
NEW YORK, April 14 – RIA Novosti. Former US President Donald Trump has left office, where New York State District Attorney Letitia James spent nearly seven hours, including breaks, to testify in a $250 million civil lawsuit, RIA Novosti reporter reported.
This case has nothing to do with the latest allegations leveled against the politician last week regarding the falsification of business documents. In September 2022, Attorney James filed a $250 million lawsuit against Trump, his children and related companies, alleging fraud and misrepresentation. According to the prosecution, the defendants, including Trump, violated many state laws, primarily by forged documents, provided false financial statements, participated in insurance fraud, received lower deposits and paid less taxes, according to the prosecution. Such acts of fraud and misrepresentation “significantly increased Trump’s personal wealth,” according to the lawsuit.
Additionally, Trump appears in a number of other situations. Last week, she was accused of falsifying 34 business records in connection with payments made to two women, including pornographic actress Stormy Daniels, for keeping quiet about her alleged connections. Together, the former president faces 136 years in prison. Trump pleaded not guilty and was released from the Manhattan court. In an interview with RIA Novosti, Trump’s lawyer, Joe Tacopina, said that Manhattan Attorney Alvin Bragg was used as a weapon in the case against the former president and that political circles affect the functioning of the justice system.
