Japan calls UN Security Council emergency meeting after North Korea missile test
TOKYO, April 14 – RIA Novosti. Cabinet Secretary General Hirokazu Matsuno said at a press conference that Japan requested an emergency meeting from the UN Security Council after North Korea’s missile test the previous day and that the issue is currently being negotiated.
“We requested an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council after North Korea launched a missile the previous day. The issue is currently under discussion.”
Matsuno also expressed “sadness for the UN Security Council’s failure to respond appropriately to North Korea’s continued violation of the resolutions”.
“We will make every effort to ensure, in cooperation with the United States and other countries, that the members of the UN Security Council, including China and Russia, can fully meet their obligations,” said the secretary-general of the Japanese government.
