Speaker of the House McCarthy urges Biden to think about America, not himself

MOSCOW, April 25 – RIA Novosti. Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Kevin McCarthy, following the announcement of U.S. President Joe Biden’s candidacy for a second term declarationHe said he should focus on America’s future, not its political future, and urged the country’s leader to “finally” sit at the negotiating table over the national debt ceiling once again.

“I know President Biden seems focused on his own political future today, but he needed to focus on America’s future. Biden should have announced that he would finally sit at the negotiating table and discuss a reasonable increase in national income.” The debt limit to avoid the first default in our history,” McCarthy tweeted.

On Wednesday, McCarthy introduced a bill that would raise the nation’s debt ceiling by $1.5 trillion. The document saves more than $4.5 trillion. It also ensures that the further growth of government spending is limited to no more than 1% per annum. As McCarthy points out, in announcing the bill, the White House will have to apply to Congress for approval if additional spending is required.

The US administration continues to demand unconditional expansion of borrowing limits from Congress, warning that otherwise the country will not be able to meet its debt obligations in the summer. Biden has refused to meet with McCarthy about the national debt ceiling and, as always in the past, demands that the increase be automatic.
