Elvira Nabiullina, President of the Central Bank of Russia, said that the Central Bank of the Russian Federation has developed an alternative system with foreign countries, including Turkey, for purchases made by Russians to Mir cards.
“A new payment system for Russian tourists has been agreed upon. Russian tourists will be able to use the money in their accounts with a debit card,” the statement said.
Previously, Turkish banks had refused to serve with the Mir payment system.
